DrWolf Fanfic chapter 9 (Final)

It was nighttime when Dr. Wolf finally woke up, he was confused to see that he was in a hospital room bandaged up and in slight pain but nothing major
“What happened?” He asked himself but then remembered hearing the sound of the whistle and the darkness edging at his senses. He wanted to throw up and run away but he kept it down and simply looked through the window at the moon. It was up and bright and the night was singing, meaning princess Luna was alright, he felt a little at peace.
“You’re awake” He heard a voice in front of him and saw none other than princess Luna standing in front of him.
“You’re alive” He replied, his voice filled with relief and guilt.
“Are the fillies alright? Did I kill anyone else?” He asked and dread haunted his features and Luna shook her head.
“You didn’t hurt anyone, ponies or fillies, and you have never killed anyone” She said and relief washed over his eyes before confusion set in.
“But what about Teardrop?” he asked and Luna held papers in front of him with the filly he believed he had slayed and sadness washed over Dr. Wolf’s features as he looked at the photo.
“I never understood the name, he was always smiling so much” He said and Luna sighed.
“He didn’t die by your paws, the shadows were the real killers, I took a look at the file and I found it obvious that the shadows murdered him, the slashes were too big to be made by a pup.” She said and Dr. Wolf looked at her with sorrow in his eyes.
“But the blood I was soaked in?” He asked and Luna sighed.
“As strange as it may sound, shadows bleed from your attacks and so do you if you are cut” she said and Dr. Wolf sunk back in the bed,
“How long have I been out?” he asked and Luna took a seat beside the bed.
“Two weeks” She said and his eyes widened.
“Two weeks, usually I just wake up next day when the sun is high up or around that time” He said and looked out, through the window and into the night.
“You may not have sensed it while unconscious but the day has changed” She said and Dr. Wolf looked at her concerned.
“How so, is Princess Celestia alright?” He asked Luna nodded.
“Yes, but she feels so guilty, she is sure she was the one that drove me to become Nightmare Moon” Luna said and Dr. Wolf gave her a kind look.
“Do you think that might be true?” He asked and Luna shook her head.
“No, I don’t” She said and Dr. Wolf tilted his head
“Do you blame yourself?” He asked and Luna looked down
“It was my fault. I was the one to become Nightmare Moon, I chose to become her” Luna said and Dr. Wolf listened
“Why did you choose to become her? If you don’t mind me asking” He asked carefully for he knew it was a touchy subject.
“Right now, I’m not sure, I think I just felt forgotten, alone, even with my sister by my side. Guess I just wanted to remind everyone Celestia wasn’t the only princess they had” Luna finished with a sad frown on her face.
“Do you worry it might happen again?” He said and Luna looked at him
“Yes, I do” She said and Dr. Wolf gave her a gentle look
“I don’t” He said and she frowned at him.
“How can you not?” She asked and the wolf in the bed smiled.
“Because, you’re not alone” He said and Luna smiled
“You’re right I’m not alone, not anymore” She said and looked out the window
“And since Celestia got better more of ponies are getting out at night. She told me she was sorry for letting the shadows take hold of her for so long” Luna said and Dr. Wolf smiled.
“I take it you forgave her” He asked and Luna nodded.
“And I’ll make sure to visit you every now and again” She said and Dr. Wolf gave her a soft look.
“I would be honored, good thing I have more tea” Dr. Wolf said smiling and Luna nodded with a smile forming on her lips.
“That is correct” She said and Dr. Wolf suppressed a yawn but Luna noticed and gave him a gentle look.
“Rest now Dr. It was not my intention to make you stay up late, good night, my friend” She said before leaving through the window and Dr. Wolf smiled after her.
“You may come by any time you wish, goodnight Luna” He said before closing his eyes and falling asleep.

When Dr. Wolf woke again he wasn’t alone that time either, he could smell someone in the room before he even opened his eyes. He could hear them talk but kept his eyes closed to hear better what was being said.
“What should we do? What if he won’t wake up?” He heard someone say and identified the voice as Ink Rose.
“Don’t worry sweetie, he will wake up, he’s a fighter, you saw him in the battle, how he protected those who needed it, even took a sphere for Princess Luna, he will wake up, he has to” He heard another one say and knew that was commander Firebrand. Then he heard something be poured into a glass and by the smell it was alcohol.
“Why are you drinking that now?” Firebrand asked and Dr. Wolf could hear the voice of Silverquill.
“It’s a new drinking game” He said but he didn’t sound as vibrant and he usually did.
“Drinking game, really” Firebrand asked and did not sound impressed, Dr. Wolf could almost hear his glare.
“Yeah, every hour doc is asleep, take a shot” Silverquill said and Wolf could hear the couple growling.
“You think this is a joke, like your reviews” Firebrand hissed and Dr. Wolf was shocked and decided to open his eyes but when he did he could see Firebrand and Silverquill glaring at each other.
“You may be taking this way too seriously” Silverquill shot back and Wolf was pretty sure a fight was going to happen but he watched to see what would happen.
“I’m taking this perfectly well, but you shouldn’t be drinking while Dr. Wolf is in the room, and sleeping, isn’t it your turn to take care of his channel?” Firebrand said and Silverquill glared at him because nobody insults his drinking.
“Well, it’s not much better to be plotting to take over the world and making out, and no, Goldenfox and Keyframe are hosting it now” Silverquill responded and the tension in the room was building up but Dr. Wolf was getting tired so he spoke.
“Hello there, Ink Rose, Firebrand, Silverquill, you know, it’s not a good idea to fight in a hospital, right” He spoke calmly and the three turned to him in shock.
“You’re awake, I can’t believe you’re awake” Ink Rose squealed and hugged they bedridden wolf who smiled and accepted her hug.
“You gave us quite a scare doc, the whole town has been in and out of here just to see if you had gotten any better” Silverquill said and Dr. Wolf smiled at him kindly.
“I thank you for the concern, but could anyone inform me of what exactly happened, I’m afraid I don’t remember anything of the event” Dr. Wolf said and soon he was getting three versions of the same events, each trying to drown the other out. But still he listened to each of them. When they had finished their tale he simply nodded at them and thanked them for telling him. After that they just had a calm discussion since they were in a hospital and the three had a lot to talk about and Dr. Wolf just listened with his gentle smile and spoke when he found it needed, like when one of them was confused or didn’t know what to say. But the visiting hour came to an end and the three visitors had to leave, they learnt the hard way that the nurses were not so gentle when kicking someone out. Dr. Wolf smiled as he watched them go but felt sleep creeping upon him
“It’s good to be helping” He muttered before tired eyes closed and he fell asleep.
The next day Teric was a bit angry at himself for not being there when his brother woke up but after a nice chat with his brother he wasn’t just as angry, he certainly enjoyed some roasted chicken.

And regarding the mare named Whistle, the news of her traveled throughout Equestria, she was finally caught by the royal guards and thrown to the dungeons for 1000 years.
