Chapter 3
Kidnapped

Two weeks later:

“Have you found anything?” A male voice asked and several voices sounded negative.
“What do we do? What if something is wrong? I mean, he never really leaves his office” A female voice spoke.
“Then we fix it” Another female voice sounded
“How do we fix something we don’t know what is?” A male voice asked and murmurs broke out.
“We take him and make him tell us” One said
“But what if he’s being threatened and watched?” One asked and another one smirked.
“Let me take care of how to reach him, then I put this place on lockdown so no one will be able to reach here” one said and everyone agreed.
“I’ll grab him, it will be piece of cake” another said and they set the plan into motion.

With Dr. Wolf

“Come now Kit, don’t be like that, you must eat something” Dr. Wolf said trying to get the small fox to eat his food.
“No hungwy” The Kit said, not grasping the ‘r’ in the word.
“Don’t you want to go Fluttershy and chase the chickens?” Dr. Wolf asked and the Kit nodded.
“Feathews!” He exclaimed and Dr. Wolf nodded
“Yes, but you won’t be able to get them if you don’t eat.” He said and that got the fox’s attention. He looked at the yogurt and began to eat. When he finished he smiled at the wolf.
“Feathews” he yelled and Dr. Wolf chuckled.
“Yes, it’s time to get you to Fluttershy” He said and picked the fox up from his chair, then took one step and was promptly falling to his doom by a hole that had appeared right under him.
“Well, looks like I will have to cancel the appointments for today.” Dr. Wolf mumbled and held the kit that was surprisingly laughing in joy. Suddenly something seemed to catch them and slowing them down.

When Dr. Wolf felt solid ground under him he noticed a soft yellow glow fading away and looked around. The room was dimly lit and he didn’t see anyone yet but this place seemed very familiar.
“Welcome Doctor, to the rift café” A voice sounded and the lights grew and then he saw the ones present.  
“Ah, Hello there Mr. Voice, Silverquill, Firebrand, AnYpony, Toonkritic, GoldenFox, Ms Possible, Ink Rose, Ms. Bliss, Eliyora and Ms. Keyframe, what can I do for you?” Dr. Wolf asked as he surveyed the group with a gentle look.
“Skip the chit chat doc, what’s wrong” Firebrand asked and Dr. Wolf tilted his head.
“What makes you think something is wrong?” The wolf asked the crowd before him.
“Well, you’ve been gone from your office a lot more than before, and so there must have been something wrong, right?” Lightning Bliss said and Dr. Wolf hummed.
“No there is nothing wrong, though if you wanted to know you could have just asked me, but since Silverquill is here, I shouldn’t be surprised” Dr. Wolf said and said hippogriff looked aghast.
“Why, I would never do something like kidnapping someone such as you” He declared. But Dr. Wolf sent him an unimpressed look.
“You already have” He stated and said hippogriff picked up a somewhat apologetic look.
“You aren’t still mad about that are you?” he asked and the wolf shook his head.
“I never was but…” He began but whatever he was going to say was cut off as the small fox in his arms managed to get free and landed on his paws on the floor in front of him. Everyone went silent as they stared at the cute little bundle of fluff, well except for Dr. Wolf
“Everyone, this is Kit, Kit, these are good friends of mine” Dr. Wolf said and Kit yipped.
“Hello, I’m Kit” The small fox said and everyone began to gush over how cute he was, well the females anyway and Silverquill.
“Is he the reason you have been acting odd these past weeks?” Firebrand asked and Dr. Wolf tilted his head.
“Hmm, I suppose I have been drifting a bit off my usual schedule since I took Kit in” Dr. Wolf said and looked at the fox kit that was basking in all the attention he was getting from the mares with Silver trying to get a good look.
“If you don’t mind me asking, how did you meet the young fox?” AnY asked in German accent and everyone focused on him, and little Kit went back into his arms to listen as he told the story of how he encountered little kit. When he finished the tale he answered all questions he could answer and while Dr. Wolf was speaking to the other analysts Kit turned to the group surrounding him and he stilled when his eyes landed on Silverquill. Silverquill noticed and smiled.
“Look everyone he likes me the best, ha-ha I will rule you all with the power of his cuteness” Silver exclaimed raising his wings and standing on his hind legs. Everyone noticing the widening of the awestruck kit. Dr. Wolf knew that look and turned to Voice,
“Mr. Reason, if I may ask, could you tell me more about this lockdown you have the café under, as I do have some ponies waiting for their appointments” Dr. Wolf said and walked a bit away from the group with VoiceofReason and Firebrand who took interest in the conversation. Dr. Wolf stood in front of the two ponies with his back to the group so both Firebrand and Voice had clear visual of the scene behind him. It began with a yell
“FETHEWS, BIG FEATHEWS” Kit yelled happily and began chasing Silverquill who began to run away from the Kit, not liking the look in his eyes.
“Help, he’s going to eat me” Silverquill yelled while running back and forth with the little pup chasing after him
“Feathews!” Kit yelled, happily chasing the frightened hippogriff. Firebrand watched the scene with fascination along with Voice as they talked to Dr. Wolf
‘Is this some kind of revenge from Dr. Wolf? No I can’t be, he wouldn’t do that’ Firebrand thought as he watched Kit catch Silverquill and begin to chew on his feathers. Silverquill tried to shake the kit off his feathers but the small fox pup held tightly onto them. Firebrand noticed an amused look in the good doctor’s eyes and mentally sweat dropped.
‘He’s doing this on purpose’ He thought, more like screamed in shock in his mind.
“So there is no way for me to leave until the eight hours are up” Dr. Wolf said and sighed.
“I’m sorry Doc” Voice said and Dr. Wolf smiled
“It’s alright, could I call the office and let them know I won’t be turning in today?” Dr. Wolf asked but Voice shook his head
“We pulled the phones out so no one could disturb us if something really was wrong” Firebrand said and Dr. Wolf sighed before looking behind him and seeing Silverquill on the floor with Kit on his wing chewing his feathers.
“Get of me you vile creature” He exclaimed and Dr. Wolf sent him a disapproving look.
“Might I request you would not call my son names, or swear around him at all” The wolf said directed at everyone and everyone nodded.
“Alright, alright, just please get him off of me” Silverquill pleaded and the wolf simply picked him up, immediately the fox let go of the feathers he was chewing and looked up at his papa who smiled at him.
“He have big feathers” Kit said excitedly and the wolf smiled brighter
“Yes he has” He replied and looked at Silverquill.
“Are you alright Silverquill?” He asked the hippogriff that had gotten himself off the floor and was checking his feathers.
“No, I broke a feather, the horror” He said falling dramatically to the ground, then he raised his head.
“Huh, no fainting couch” he said standing up again and plucking the broken feather sadly, it was one of his bigger ones, and dropped it on the floor
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know this would happen” The wolf said apologetically.
“That he would try to eat me, he is a fox and I’m part bird” Silverquill said and Dr. Wolf looked at the little fox in his arms that was staring intently on Silverquill’s wings.
“Silver, he wasn’t trying to eat you, he wanted to play with your feathers” Dr. Wolf said reaching out and picking up the fallen feather. Everyone there stared as the small fox saw the feather in his papa’s paw and reached out for it. Dr. Wolf put Kit down and the feather in front of him and immediately the small fox pounced the feather and began to play with it. Almost everyone in the room went aww at the sight though everyone found it cute, even Silver couldn’t resist the cuteness.
“But Silver if I may ask, if you were having trouble, why didn’t you just fly? Or pick him up, he’s not even quarter of your size?” Dr. Wolf asked and almost everypony began to laugh for a small while until Goldenfox gave Kit a look
“So now that he is entertained, what should we do these eight hours we’re stuck here?” Goldenfox asked and everyone looked at each other
“Anyone up to some karaoke?” Eliyora offered and everyone agreed while Lightning Bliss won the right to watch little Kit.
Goldenfox was the first one on the stage and began to search for a song to sing, but before he found one everyone heard the unmistakable ring of a phone, every head turned to the couch as it was the source of the sound, Dr. Wolf went on all fours and looked under the couch, he took the glowing, ringing cellphone and stared at it for a while before flipping it open and answering.
“Yes hello?” Dr. Wolf answered and tried to ignore the stares he was receiving.
“Wolf are you there, are you alright bro?” Frantic voice sounded in the phone and Wolf sat down.
“Hello to you too Teric, I’m fine, are you alright?” Dr. Wolf asked and was getting a bit worried himself as Teric only called him Wolf if something was really wrong or he was extremely worried or upset.
“I got a call from your office asking about you, I already tried to call you three times, you never picked up I was even going to call the police” Teric said and sounded a bit calmer but still a bit frantic.
“I see, well you see, I ended up kind of stuck in the rift café for few hours, the phones are down and this is the first time when I hear the cellphone ring I didn’t realize I had it with me, I’m alright, I’m fine Teric” Dr. Wolf said calmly trying to calm his brother a bit more.
“Is Kit there with you?” Teric asked and Dr. Wolf nodded.
“Yes, he’s fine, got few feathers to play with so he is happy” Dr. Wolf said and heard Teric sigh in relief then tell someone else he and Kit were fine.
“How did you end up there stuck anyway?” Teric asked and Dr. Wolf thought for a bit.
“I fell in, literally, Firebrand managed to catch us before we hit anything so we’re unharmed” Dr. Wolf said and looking at the ponies who were staring at him in silence, it was a bit unnerving.
“When do you get out of prison?” Teric asked and Dr. Wolf smirked when he heard the gasps from Teric’s phone.
“In about seven hours, and it’s not a prison” Dr. Wolf said and Teric snorted
“No it’s a detention hall” Teric said and the wolf actually rolled his eyes.
“It’s a café with drinks and Karaoke” Dr. Wolf said and Teric was silent.
“Dude, you’re stuck in a bar” Teric said in deadpan voice and Dr. Wolf actually chuckled.
“I will hear from you later Teric, I better call the office now that I have my phone” Dr. Wolf said and waited for a reply.
“Alright, I will call you later to see if you’re back and alright, later bro.” Teric said
“Later Teric” Dr. Wolf said before hanging up. He turned to the ponies looking at him and smiled
“Apparently I was missed, I better call the office to let them know I won’t come in today.” Dr. Wolf said and called to office, explaining his situation and letting them know he would go to work the next day to make up for his absence, after reaching an agreement the wolf hung up.
“My apologies, I didn’t realize I had my phone with me” Dr. Wolf said and everyone besides Lightning bliss and Kit began to take part in the Karaoke.

And so the ponies, wolf, fox and hippogriff entertained themselves some of the hours, after karaoke  time they played games that escalated into discussions about the mane six, the history of Equestria and more connected to the show. But through all that Dr. Wolf was in deep thought about his phone, he often just stared at it and then at the couch, in the end he stood up from the chair he had rested on and walked towards voice that was discussing with Ink Rose about rift magic they quit talking when they noticed the wolf.
“Is everything alright Dr. Wolf?” Ink asked and Dr. Wolf gave her a calm smile.
“Yes, or so I think, is it alright if I have a word with Voice for a few minutes?” He asked politely and Ink smiled
“Of course, I need a drink” Ink said and left for the water-stall. When she was gone Dr. Wolf turned to Voice who was giving him a strange look.
“So how can I help you?” Voice asked and Dr. Wolf looked at Kit that was playing with Silverquill, Keyframe and Ms. Possible.
“You told me no one could get in here without you noticing right?” Dr. Wolf asked and Voice nodded.
“That’s right, why?” He asked and Dr. Wolf look towards the couch.
“Is it possible for things to travel to the rift café?” He asked and Voice nodded
“Normally yes, but not since the lockdown, it closes all the tears and holes in the rift for a short while.” Voice said and Dr. Wolf nodded
“Can you feel if those rifts appear?” He asked and Voice nodded
“Could you tell me if any disturbance has happened since the lockdown?” Dr. Wolf asked yet again and Voice nodded,
“I could, why? Is something wrong? Did you see something appear?” voice asked and Dr. Wolf took up his phone.
“Your phone?” Voice asked and Dr. Wolf nodded.
“Yes, I remember putting it into charging because I forgot last night, I remember it had only charged one/fourth this morning.” Dr. Wolf said and Voice raised his eyebrow.
“Maybe you picked it up without thinking about it, and it slipped sometime under the couch.” Voice said and shrugged.
“I thought so too, but…” He flipped the phone open.
“It is fully charged” He said and Voice saw the full battery
“And Teric told me he had called me three times prior, yet we never heard it” Dr. Wolf said and released a breath.
“So I’m just confused how it got here, or it might just be my imagination” Dr. Wolf said and Voice stared at the wolf for a moment before sighing.
“I will check, but I need to focus” Voice said, not letting the wolf notice how bothered he was but he suspected the wolf picked up on it, Voice closed his eyes and began focus on the magic of the rift. After ten minutes he opened his eyes again and was now staring at the couch.
“So it appeared the through a hole?” Wolf asked and sounded a bit hopeful.
“No, it wasn’t a hole, it was concentrated, someone was here, yet, it’s gone now, it was so deaf, no wonder I didn’t pick up on it right away” Voice said and his voice rose
“Someone got in and got out, not just once, many times” Voice said and then notices almost everyone were staring at him.
“Calm down Voice, deep breaths” Dr. Wolf said and Voice then noticed how quickly he was breathing, he took a deep breath and released it, then he repeated the process few times, calming down in the process
“Thanks Doc, I was losing it.” He said and turned to him
“You were right, the phone wasn’t here before, but someone brought it here” Voice said and sighed.
“Well, it does us no good to ponder it any longer, after all, the eight hours are just fifteen minutes away” voice said and Dr. Wolf nodded.
“I guess you’re right, though I can tell you Kit has never seemed so exhausted after playing, maybe I should ask Silverquill to watch him more often” Dr. Wolf said then noticing a horrified expression on almost everyone’s faces
“Of course along with Lightning Bliss” He added and the looks subdued.
“And don’t forget, I would also be happy to look after him” Keyframe said along with Goldenfox,
“And us” Firebrand and Ink Rose added.
“And don’t forget us,” Eliyora and Toonkritic smiled as they watched Kit play with Silverquill.
“I’ll also be happy to help and Mr. German can help” Ms. Possible said dragging AnY into it though he didn’t seem to protest all that much, considering he wasn’t kicking and screaming.
“I’m happy to see so many would like to look after Kit, and I just might need it, Fluttershy is going out of town for a bit and I need someone to watch him tomorrow” Dr. Wolf said and immediately Silverquill and Lightning Bliss raised their forelimb,
“I’ll do it” They said and glared at each other, sensing a competition with colorful words Dr. Wolf stepped in before it began to escalate.
“I’ll appreciate it if you both could, you can come to my house early in the morning, that means eight o’clock” Dr. Wolf said sending Silver a look.
“There will be a list ready of what you can and cannot do, what he eats and when he’s supposed to take a nap” Dr. Wolf said and picked up the fox that was yawning. Kit snuggled in his arms before closing his eyes and falling into light sleep.
“Aww he’s so cute” Eliyora said and Dr. Wolf smiled
“He sure is” He replied then he noticed something change, doors began to appear on the walls and Finn the pony walked through one with a smile on his face.
“Hello everyone, is the café open yet?” He asked and Keyframe nodded
“It sure is, what can I get you?” She asked.
“Just some orange juice, thank you” Finn said then noticed Dr. Wolf
“Hello there Dr. Wolf, I thought you were in your office” Finn said then noticing the sleeping fox.
“Hey is that a fox?” He asked and Dr. Wolf nodded.
“Hello there Finn, this is my son, Kit, and yes, he’s a fox” Dr. Wolf said and Finn actually looked shocked, then he seemed to become happier than Pinkie Pie in a party.
“I am so happy for you doctor, where is the lucky lady? I just got to meet her” Finn said a bit too loud and the small fox woke up with a start.
“I adopted him, but could you be a bit quieter, it’s his naptime” Dr. Wolf said and Finn blushed.
“Yes, of course” He said then noticed the fox was awake.
“Hey there little guy, sorry for waking you up, I’ll be quiet” Finn told the fox quietly
“Papa, quiet” the fox mumbled before falling back into slumber.
“Aww, he’s so cute” Finn whispered and Dr. Wolf nodded.
“I better get back home, it would be more comfortable for him to sleep in a bed.” Dr. Wolf said and Finn nodded.
“I see you later Dr. Wolf” Finn said
“Goodbye Finn, have a good day” Dr. Wolf replied and went to his own door.
